- State’s task force on coronavirus racial disparity probes testing bias, seeking input - State Rep. Brenda Carter is quoted in this Oakland Press article about the state’s new task force aimed at curbing COVID-19 mortality rates in Black communities. She is an alum of the Michigan Political Leadership Program at IPPSR.
- Schools will not require social distancing to reopen this fall. - This is because of immovable realities such as classroom size, school budgets and the need to allow parents to return to work, Bridge magazine said as a newly released report. IPPSR has created a special webpage, recently undated, to track school response to the coronavirus pandemic.

- Governor Whitmer Appoints Educators, Parents, Students to COVID-19 Return to School Advisory Council - Nicole Britten, health officer for the Berrien County Health Department, recently spoke at an IPPSR-sponsored Health Policy Issues Group session. - Rep. Schroeder: Health of Michigan students is top priority of ‘Return to Learn’ plan - Gov. Gretchen Whitmer announced a group of 25 leaders in health care and education to serve on the COVID-19 return to learn advisory council. Rep. Andrea Schroeder, a Michigan Political Leadership Program alum, commented on the approach in this release.
